Reviews and Ratings
Staying at this hotel was a delightful experience overall. The rooms in the 'new' annex, which the welcoming receptionist praised as the best in the hotel, were impeccably clean and well-maintained, boasting incredibly comfortable beds and amazing showers. The ambiance felt like stepping into an Ibsen play, with elegant chandeliers, cozy wood fires, intricate lace, antique wooden furnishings that transported me to another era.
My stay at the hotel was mixed. The room in the new building was not so nice and not very clean, but it had a small dormer window with great fjord views. On the bright side, the room was large and authentically restored, filled with high-quality amenities. It suited the superb weather we had perfectly.
My stay at the hotel was like stepping into a scene from an Ibsen play, with exceptionally quaint and beautifully decorated rooms that provided a peaceful night's sleep. The lovely sunny terrace overlooking the garden and the fjord was a real highlight, though it did get a bit crowded at times due to the nearby ferry.
The hotel exudes charm with beautiful views over the fjord, reminiscent of an Ibsen play with old antiques and wood fires. The rooms, though a bit cramped at times, offer great fjord views through small dormer windows. The service is top-notch, blending luxury with historic preservation, while the location couldn't be more perfect nestled on the shores of the Lustrafjord. The dining experience is a delight with a terrific buffet selection, perfect for starting the day.
